A new roof installation starts from bare framing or decking — there's nothing to tear off. A replacement removes an existing roof system first. Both end with a complete, warranted roofing system. The main difference is that new installation requires proper decking and ventilation to be installed from scratch, with no existing baseline to work from.
A standard home addition roof installation typically takes 1–2 days, depending on size and complexity. Steep pitches, multiple valleys, or complex flashing work can add time. B&T provides a specific timeline with your estimate.
New roof installation on new construction or additions generally requires a building permit in NJ municipalities. B&T handles permit coordination as part of the project for new construction work. For replacements on existing homes, permits may or may not be required depending on your municipality — we check for you.
B&T provides a workmanship warranty on all installations. GAF system-certified installations also qualify for the manufacturer warranty — one of the strongest in the industry, covering both materials and workmanship for up to 25 years.
